About Me

Angel Noel Chavez

Angel Noel Chavez

I'm a Jr. Site Reliability Engineer & Cloud Practitioner, dedicated to building and automating infrastructure so engineering teams can move with confidence and scale efficiently.

-

In my current role, I spearheaded the creation and deployment of a DevOps driven Infrastructure-as-Code workflow to manage a 6-node Proxmox VE cluster using Git, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Linux, SSH, and Proxmox APIs.

-

The result: a version-controlled, ephemeral infrastructure baseline that:

  • Automates onboarding of new team members
  • Enables faster feature roll-outs with less risk of configuration drift
  • Builds a foundation for scaling 6-10 more nodes and eventually multiple full racks

-

This project now underpins how my team operates. I'm currently earning my Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cloud Computing and regularly share insights on cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and automation on my blog.

Experience

Northwest Vista

Jr. Site Reliability Engineer • Aug, 2025 - Present
  • Architected and implemented a DevOps + IaC solution to manage a 6-node Proxmox VE cluster using Git, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Linux and SSH.
  • Converted cluster configuration into an ephemeral, version-controlled infrastructure baseline enabling reproducible provisioning and lifecycle management.
  • Automated onboarding workflows for new team members, greatly reducing manual setup and time to productivity.
  • Improved deployment consistency and minimized configuration drift; preparing the infrastructure to scale with 11 more nodes and 8 additional racks in a remote location.
  • Led the initiative end-to-end from architecture through deployment and team adoption and now the workflow is part of standard team operations.
